Even though Angelina Jolie’s daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is dedicated to her mother’s humanitarian work, she’s never really been the acting world’s biggest fan. In fact, at one point she turned down a role alongside her mother in the hit Disney film. Maleficent.
Let’s go back to 2014, when everyone couldn’t wait to see Jolie play the iconic Disney villain and learn all about the instant success. In an interview at the time for a now-archived Elle article (via Desimartini), the Oscar winner dropped the bombshell that Shiloh almost played young Aurora!
She revealed: “I asked Shiloh if she was Aurora, and she laughed in my face. She said she would be a horned creature.
While Shiloh turned down the adorable role, the role was later given to Jolie’s youngest daughter, Vivienne. Most of the little girls who auditioned for the role ended up being terrified of Jolie in her Maleficent costume, with the exception of little Vivienne!

Maleficent tells the story of Sleeping Beauty, but it is the supposedly true story from Maleficent’s point of view. It instantly became a favorite for many, earning an Oscar nomination and a well-received sequel to the franchise soon after.
