According to The Telegraph, Manchester United have pre-selected Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn ahead of a possible summer transfer.
United have been linked with McGinn for years at this stage, but with Darren Fletcher reportedly a fan of the Scotsman, the Red Devils could finally make a move this summer.
It comes just days after McGinn missed Villa’s last Premier League game against the United side.
However, not too long ago the Scot was shining against the Red Devils in the FA Cup.

McGinn is certainly a player capable of playing for a top side, and although Manchester United are struggling this season, they remain in the Champions League and will likely be in and around the top four in the years to come due to their power financial.
McGinn will have two years left on his Villa contract at the end of this season, so it would be a good time for him to make a move, and his stock has only increased since joining the Premier League with the Midlands club. back in 2019.
The midfielder has earned praise from fans and pundits alike, while Jurgen Klopp has even described him as a ‘super’ player in the past.
United certainly need to revamp their midfield, while Villa are also said to have plans to strengthen that area, with Yves Bissouma heavily linked in recent weeks.
It will be interesting to follow this story until the summer. Steven Gerrard is notoriously not a huge United fan, so he may not be keen on selling one of his best players to the Old Trafford side, but as Villa know all too well, when one of the big boys calls, it’s incredibly hard to say no.
