The 2022 NFL season is upon us. John Hussey will work the first game of the first full week of the preseason as the Patriots take on the visiting Giants in Foxborough, Mass. Thursday evening.
During the 2022 season, the NFL Arbitration Department chose not to release a full arbitration schedule to its crews, presumably to prevent information from being released to the public. This year, referees will be informed of the games they are scheduled for and then communicate these assignments to their team. This will obviously affect the homework report, and at the time of publication there are still some blanks.
Side judge Don Willard, a former Big Ten umpire, will get a tryout as umpire on Brad Rogers’ team. Rogers will have the week off. He was noted on this site as one of the candidates to be promoted to white hat one day.
All times Eastern. Games live on NFL Network will be blacked out and broadcast on local stations in both teams’ markets. (In certain outages, a game scheduled to air on tape delay will be broadcast live on NFL Network as an alternate game.) All games are available live on NFL+.
