Reese Witherspoon looked like a ray of sunshine when she arrived for an interview Wednesday in rain-soaked New York City.
The actor, 46, brought a pop of color to the gray streets, wearing a belted lavender sheath with silver slingback heels. She was also seen with a camel coat.
The star promoted her new children’s book Busy Betty.

The Oscar-winning actress was invited to discuss her new book, Busy Betty, on The View.
The actress, producer and busy mother has written a children’s book about “a creative, curious and exuberant young girl with big plans and an even bigger heart.”

The founder of Reese’s Book Club has participated in two previous volumes.
Whiskey in a Teacup: What Growing Up in the South Taught Me About Life, Love, and Baking Biscuits is a tribute to his grandmother, Dorothea Darby, and her Southern heritage.
She also contributed to the photography book Homegrown.

This is the author’s first time writing for children and she collaborated with Xindi Yan on the picture book illustrations.
Sharing the story on social media, the enthusiastic author explained, “I put my heart and soul into creating this peppy little character based on my youth, and I can’t wait to hear what you and the children in your life think!”
She explained that readers will love the character because she is “an adventurous little girl” who “turns a mess into a success” and encourages children to “tap into their own creativity”.

The company’s next production will remain in the kid-friendly zone, creating a reimagined version of classic Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The Hollywood Reporter described the animated film as “a modern take on the classic tale that leans into the title character as a powerful female protagonist.”
