Rees is ready to push his limits for Campbell | UFC Battle Pass

In a sport centered around digging deeper than the guy next to you and across from you, Rees’ world is as black and white as it gets. Work hard or watch others celebrate.

The redshirt freshman is returning to old form this year for the first time in a while and reminiscing about how willing he is to work in every game with the first drop in weight in recent memory. After a lifetime of losing weight and never missing weight, Rees is once again remembering one of his least favorite parts of MMA, fighters missing weight.

“I’ve never missed weight, so they shouldn’t miss weight either, but I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes,” Rees explained. “I just don’t think there’s an excuse for it.”

Regardless of the fighter, and with few exceptions, regardless of the situation, it’s hard to convince a wrestler who loses weight more often in a year than fighters can lose in a career to have sympathy for a failed fighter.

Rees explains that fighters don’t necessarily get “too much support” from their teams for the missing weight, but explains that if a one-ounce weight was missing let alone a 7.5-pound Khamzat Chimaev , his gym experience would be very different.
