Red Wiggle Caterina Mete has opened up about her IVF journey.

Fans of the 43-year-old children’s entertainer were delighted when she announced on her social media in February that she was expecting identical daughters.

And now Caterina, who is single, has explained why she decided to share intimate details about her pregnancy.

Appearing on the Something to Talk About podcast on Saturday, the dancer and performer was asked why she decided to reveal that she had used an anonymous donor.

She continued: “So it’s something I’ve never been ashamed of. I was very happy to tell people that that’s how I did it and, being honest, you realize that a lot of people did it that way too.

Caterina added that she sometimes had difficulty following the process.

“It was hard. You [have] moments when you cry. You say to yourself, I don’t have a partner, it’s just me, what am I going to do?’ she says.

‘And then you go, Stop. Just do it. What are you waiting for? I’m older. I can’t wait any longer because unfortunately the body is like that.

In an emotional confession, Caterina explained how she suffered a miscarriage in a previous pregnancy after undergoing IVF treatment.

“It was hard to deal with, but it’s amazing how many women go through this and obviously they don’t like to talk about it because it’s so hard and horrible,” she said.

After being left with just one embryo, Caterina underwent the treatment again and is now expecting twin girls.

It comes after Caterina took to Instagram in February to announce the happy news she was expecting, telling fans she “can’t wait to be a mom.”

In the clip, a beaming Caterina debuted her baby bump while dressed in her red skirt.
