New updates are added at the bottom of this story …….
The original story (published January 21, 2021) follows:
The Asus ROG Phone 3 is easily one of the best Android smartphones for those who like to indulge in mobile gaming thanks to the high-end hardware and other game-oriented features of the device.
Asus launched the device with Android 10 preinstalled and its internal ROG UI skin which offers certain features to enhance the gaming experience.
It was obvious that the company would be sowing Android 11 for the ROG Phone 3, however, Asus did not share a specific timeline for its availability.
Earlier this month, we reported that Asus may soon launch the Android 11 beta for the ROG Phone 3. A mod also confirmed that the latest version of Android is in development.
So far, it looks like Asus is finally ready to release the beta version of Android 11 for its 2020 gaming smartphone. A member of the Asus France ZenFone team has taken to Twitter to confirm the beta will go live today.
We shared a screenshot of the individual’s tweet – translated from french – for reference:
In fact, the ZenFone team member also shared a screenshot of the System Info page of their ROG Phone 3 running Android 11. Check it out below.
Interested ROG Phone 3 users should be able to sign up for the Android 11 beta program soon.
Previously, the Taiwanese OEM was beta testing Android 11 on the Asus ZenFone 6Z – Asus 6Z in India – which recently purchased the new version of Android in stable form.
The ZenFone 6Z saw over a dozen beta updates before releasing the stable version after a few months. This time around, we’re hoping Asus will install Android 11 a bit earlier for the ROG Phone 3.
That being said, we’ll be releasing an update once the official beta announcement goes live.
In the meantime, you can check our dedicated tracker to find out the status of Android 11 for all eligible Asus devices.
