A cooking oil sold in Colorado is being recalled due to serious safety risks, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Primal Kitchen is voluntarily recalling some of its branded Avocado Oils (750ml) as the glass container may be prone to breakage. The recall affects products with an individual package UPC of 8-5523200719-4, a case UPC of 108552320071910000 and an expiration date of August 19, 2025 to August 21, 2025.

The brand issued the recall after discovering avocado oil bottles leaking into shipping containers in its warehouse. No consumer injuries or illnesses were reported on Monday, April 22.

The FDA said the recalled cooking oil was sold in the Eastern United States, California and online nationwide. No other sizes, formats, or batches have been affected by this issue.

Authorities are urging consumers who purchased the affected items to throw them away.

“Primal Kitchen is committed to the highest safety and quality standards. This recall is related to a packaging issue for this specific size (750 ml glass),” the statement said.

Customers with questions or concerns can contact the company at 888-774-6259. They are available Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. EST.
