Realme has started rolling out beta version of Android 11 based Realme UI 2.0 for Realme X which debuted in India in July 2019 with ColorOS 6 based on Android Pie. The company has opened early access to the beta in batches, and users can now enjoy all the features of Android 11, improved security, improved performance and more after the update. The next-gen software iteration for Realme smartphones features improvements to the overall theme color, AoD (always on display), and dark mode, as well as icon and font customizations. It features a floating window feature to allow users to use multiple apps simultaneously.
Realme states that Realme X users should guarantee at least 5GB of free storage, and the device should not be rooted until the Realme UI 2.0 beta update either. The Chinese tech company advises users to back up their personal data before proceeding with the installation, as this is still a preliminary preview of the software. He further notes that the smartphone may not always receive the software version on the first try due to “unpredictable factors such as network communication and policy adjustment.” Updating the software also requires the phone to have at least 60% battery power, Realme X users in India can request early access to Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 by going to Phone settings> Update software> Tap the settings icon at the top right corner> Trial version> Submit your information> Apply now. Users should ensure that the device is running on the required user interface version of RMX1901EX_11.C.11. If users are not happy with the beta, they can also roll back to the previous stable iteration. “You can’t go back to the Early Access version once you’ve gone back,” warns Realme.
To start the restore process, download the restore package to your phone and remember the location. Then turn off the Realme X7 Pro 5G> Long press the volume down and power buttons at the same time, enter recovery mode> Choose language> Install from storage> Enter your lock password the screen> Find and tap the restore package to revert to the previous version. The Realme X was a standout device in its early days, and it came with a pop-up selfie camera. It is priced at Rs 20,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB variant.
