Crisitiano Ronaldo has taken to social media to declare himself ‘ready’ for Manchester United’s season opener.

Ronaldo made headlines earlier this summer after signaling his intention to leave the club to play Champions League football.

Despite early interest from Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, the 37-year-old is still not far from a move away from Old Trafford, which means his future is very uncertain.

After playing 45 minutes of United’s friendly against Rayo Vallecano last week, Ronaldo was criticized for being one of many players to leave Old Trafford early, prompting criticism from Erik ten Hag.

However, when asked about Ronaldo’s involvement over the weekend, the Dutch head coach gave a pithy answer.

When asked if he would start, ten Hag replied: “We’ll see on Sunday.

“I’m happy with the whole team, we work well, good culture and Cristiano works very hard and hard. I’m really happy.

“We have a better striker; really happy he’s here with the team and we’re sticking to the plan.

As fans eagerly wait to see if Ronaldo will feature against the Seagulls, the man himself has taken to social media with an Instagram story that simply says ‘ready’.

It’s clear that Ronaldo is ready to play, the question is whether Ten Hag is ready to reintroduce him into his plans, especially given Anthony Martial’s recent injury which will rule him out of the game.
