Reaching the Champions League round of 16 this season should earn Inter an extra €20m at a time when they need the cash, according to a report from Italian media.
As reported The Gazzetta dello SportInter’s chances of qualifying for the next round of the Champions League are very high after winning and drawing against Barcelona in back-to-back games.
It means the Nerazzurri can start thinking about how this affects their finances for the season.
Inter are set to receive €9.6m from UEFA as a fair price for reaching the next round.
Another €2-3m will be added to Inter’s market share, then they will earn €7-8m from the Round of 16 game at San Siro from gate receipts.
Inter have already earned €36.4m just for being in the tournament this season due to attendance, historical standings, market pool and results so far.
A win against Viktoria Plzen at the San Siro will secure Inter’s qualification.
