Davante Adams hasn’t been shy about teasing his displeasure with the Las Vegas Raiders since joining the team in 2022. But starting in 2024, the star wide receiver no longer has any qualms about his place, telling reporters this week that he is committed to the franchise.

“If I wanted to leave, I would have left by now,” Adams said, according to The Athletic. “This is where I want to be.”

The wide player’s remark came in response to questions about whether he would prefer to play elsewhere. This is the second time he has reaffirmed his commitment to the Raiders last year, also telling reporters after the 2023 trade deadline that he was “happy to be a Raider” despite having been admittedly “hurt” by some of the team’s decisions and suggesting that his experience in Vegas “wasn’t what I wanted.”

The longtime Green Bay Packers big man is under contract with the Raiders through the 2026 season thanks to the five-year, $140 million deal he signed with Las Vegas before 2022. That contract has was signed as part of the Adams trade to the Raiders.

One factor working in the club’s favor here: new head coach Antonio Pierce. Hired for a full-time role this offseason after replacing jettisoned Josh McDaniels in 2023, Pierce was cited as a reason for Adams’ loyalty this week.

“It’s already improved the morale of the team,” the receiver said of Pierce’s hiring. “That’s what we were all looking for: to be able to continue with the same mindset that we had. He’s our guy.”
