“I don’t think anyone has ever reprimanded him”: Australian radio host reveals he berated Zac Efron in the face for being late for a function with Hugh Jackman
Radio host Gus Worland recalled the time he had “denounced” Zac Efron in the face of his non-punctual behavior.
On Sunday, the former Triple M star claimed the Hollywood idol woke up an hour late for a football game in 2016, which Gus’ best friend Hugh Jackman invited him to.
Speaking to Sam Armytage’s Something To Talk About podcast, Gus candidly revealed he’s not afraid to berate the actor for his rude behavior, stating, “He was just standing there. never berated him.

Gus said Hugh and Zac filmed The Greatest Showman together at the time and the trio planned to enjoy the NFL game together in New York City.
But Gus found himself “spitting” when Zac arrived an hour late without apologizing – causing the group to miss a tour that had been arranged for them.
Soon after, Zac apparently started playing music by a ‘cr * p’ rapper on the radio as he sat in the car with the couple – and the pragmatic radio host claims he finally had enough.
Best Friends: Gus has been Hugh’s best friend for over 45 years and couldn’t help but lose his temper over Zac’s non-punctual behavior
“I said, ‘Zac, let me give you some advice. First, I don’t care who you are. B, you’re late and you haven’t apologized yet and Jacko is too kind to say it and… you really ruined our day, ”he said.
“From that point on he was like a little puppy. He said to me, “I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to be.” It was actually a nice conversation.
Gus added that he told Hugh he had to be a “father figure” to Zac, who ended up leaving the game three-quarters of the time.
Turnaround: “From that point on he was like a little puppy. He said to me: ‘I’m so sorry, I didn’t want to be. It was actually a nice conversation, ”said Gus
“Sometimes you just need to give these guys a hug and some truths around the house,” Sam told Gus.
Gus himself left Triple M’s Moonman In The Morning show in 2019, in order to focus his attention on his various mental health campaigns.
He has always been a passionate advocate for men’s mental health and established the Gotcha 4 Life Foundation (G4L) in 2017.
