Radio host Howard Stern recently revealed that his father, Ben, died aged 99.
The radio and TV personality is best known for The Howard Stern Showwhich welcomed many distinguished guests like Scarlett Johansson, Jake Gyllenhall, Jennifer Lawrence, Kendrick Lamar and Miley Cyrus, among others.
However, one of Howard’s hidden talents is painting, which we discovered after his recent interview with Hampton-based Dan’s Papers.
Howard Stern reveals his father Ben died at 99
Howard recently painted a cover for Dan’s Papers.
When asked what other East End locations were on Howard’s list to paint next, he revealed he was eyeing Corwith Barns.
Speaking of his upcoming work, he said, “I’m doing a great painting that hopefully captures every broken plank on this decaying structure.”
In the same interview, Howard revealed that his father, Ben, died recently at age 99. He also said that painting the barns was one of his ways of honoring his father “and all those who grow old and then are gone.”
The radio host did not reveal the cause of his father’s death or the date of his death.
What has Howard said about his parents over the years?
Howard has often talked about both of his parents – Ben and Ray – on his shows and in his books.
In his 2019 book, Howard Stern returns, the 68-year-old media personality said her mother was one of her favorite guests on her show. He claimed she was good at answering his angry questions.
This year, in February, the host revealed that his mother was suffering from health problems.
Speaking about his dad, Howard once hilariously expressed how he thought Ben was a distant dad. “It’s not that I didn’t feel loved by my dad, but my dad never had the sense to have fun, he just never had fun.”
Howard Stern is the father of three children
Howard shares three daughters with his ex-wife, Alison Berns. The couple were married from 1978 to 2001 and are co-parents of Emily Beth (39), Debra Jennifer (36) and Ashley Jade (29).
He has been married to his second wife, Beth Ostrosky Stern, since 2008.
