“It made me very happy”: Jamie Oliver cannot contain his joy as he receives the Order of the Star of Italy at the country’s embassy in London
Jamie Oliver gladly accepted the Order of the Star of Italy at the Italian Embassy in London on Wednesday evening.
The TV chief, 46, cut a suave figure in a dark gray suit which he paired with a tie in a lighter shade, as well as a white shirt.
While accepting the distinction, he posed alongside fellow restaurateur Gennaro Contaldo, who himself also won the recognition.
Beaming ear to ear, The Jamie’s Super Food star posed alongside his team of chefs while revealing he would be getting an Italian passport. The prestigious medal is a second civilian honor and is awarded to those who promote ties with Italy abroad.

Taking to Instagram to share the delightful news, he wrote: “Last night I was very lucky to receive the honor ‘Cavaliere’ dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia.
“It was a fantastic event that I was able to share with my best friend @gennarocontaldo @joolsolver all of my friends and family.
‘A huge thank you to Ambassador Trombetta for welcoming us and everyone at @italianembassyinuk and the team of chefs who cook delicious food.
“This prize is awarded for the promotion of Italy [sic] this is amazing food and culture for me it has always been a pleasure xxxx thank you! Oh and apparently I get an Italian [sic] passport too !!! Which made me very happy.

Her award comes after Jamie’s wife Jools, 46, recently revealed she could undergo IVF to have another baby after suffering five heartbreaking miscarriages.
She candidly revealed that she feared losing her life before seeking medical help as she suffered her second miscarriage.
The model, who shares Poppy, 19, Daisy Boo, 17, Petal Blossom, 12, Buddy, ten, and River, five, with Jamie, is now urging women to talk about the baby loss.
She told Life & Soul with Zoe Clark-Coates: “So I thought about IVF because after researching it and talking to amazing people, it seems like the right option for my age.

“But you know it’s hard because I have a partner too, you know I have to think about him, I’m not sure he’s that keen to do it that way.” So I don’t want to push anything, because I’m very lucky.
“I guess I’m getting to an age where I’m going through menopause. I’ll actually think, “Thank goodness.”
“I’ll feel relieved that it’s not possible and I can just go on with my life and you know relax because it’s always in the back of your head that’s the problem.”
