After congratulating the former midfielder on her victory, Mike Tindall did the honors by placing the floral crown on Jill’s head as she sat triumphantly on the wooden throne before kissing his fiancée Shelly Unitt on the bridge.

After her coronation, after 12 million viewers cast their ballots, an emotional Jill, who broke down in tears, said, “I can’t believe it.” I can not believe it. I think I’m going to owe my grandma a lot of money for the 12 million votes! I don’t think there should be just one winner, we are all winners.

Winner! The sports star, 35, beat politician Matt Hancock, 44, and Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner, 23, in the grand final on Sunday night after surviving 23 days in the Australian camp.

She said: “If Owen were to win King of the Jungle or if I were to win Queen of the Jungle, there’s no one I’d rather be sitting here with, so today is going to be a great day regardless. .”

The Lioness said being part of a team for her entire career has positioned her well for life in the jungle.

“I always say that’s why kids have to play sports, it’s not about going to the highest level or anything like that. It’s what you learn through sport, winning, losing, working hard, being a good person and you don’t know how you’re going to react to rats and heights, but having everyone playing for amazing teams tells me well equipped for the jungle,’ she explained.

She tried to be on her best behavior in the jungle, knowing her family back home would be watching, saying: ‘I was trying to tone it down at first because I was like Jill, you’re live on ITV , your grandma is watching , your nephews, your niece, but over time you just forgot you were on a TV show.

She was the only woman left at the camp for eight days, but says she didn’t need to keep Matt Hancock and Mike Tindall under control.

Jill told Ant and Dec, “I never thought of it like that, I didn’t.” They were so welcoming. Obviously, I’m a bit of a tomboy when I play football. They weren’t like ‘oh, you sit down, and I’ll get the logs’, I still had to get the water, the logs, clean the dunny. No, I never felt like I never did.

She was met at Red Bridge by fiancée Shelly Unitt, who gave the champ a big hug after the engaged couple had been apart for over a month.

Jill’s win caps a momentous year for the star after playing in the Euro-winning side this summer.

The Lionesses were crowned champions of 2022 in August when they beat eight-time champions Germany to lift England’s first trophy since 1966.
