Pundit: Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams second coming to Chelsea ace N’Golo Kante – Reuters Sports News

Sports 18 pundit Pradhyum Reddy has compared Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams to Chelsea ace N’Golo Kante for his performances at the World Cup.

The 23-year-old averaged 13km in each game ahead of the United States v Netherlands Round of 16 clash.

Adams started every game for them and served as their captain as they sailed past the group stages to meet one of the tournament’s top nations.

Speaking on Sports 18, Reddy said: “He’s like a young N’Golo Kante. He covers an average of 13 km in each game. He wins tackles, dictates the tempo and is constantly on the move. Fantastic player for USA.

World-class potential?

To be compared to Kante is high praise and Adams will no doubt be proud of all the plaudits he has received at this World Cup.

The Frenchman won the 2018 edition of the competition and also has a Champions League winner’s medal to his name.

At 23, Adams is already showing the maturity of a midfielder at his peak and Leeds have done a phenomenal job securing his services.

If he hadn’t moved to Elland Road in the summer, this World Cup alone would have seen his valuation soar to £50m and big clubs would have been looking to sign him.

Leeds have a phenomenal deal and we don’t see Adams leaving at the end of the season.

If he wants out, the Whites may look to demand near or maybe even more than the club-record fee they received from Barcelona when Raphinha left in the summer.

He certainly has world-class potential and can certainly fulfill it under Jesse Marsch at Leeds, so we hope he sticks around for the foreseeable future.

In other Leeds United news, Los Blancos are now in the hunt for a World Cup striker and a January move appears to be on the cards for them.
