Priscilla Presley received a very passionate reception from adoring fans after landing in Australia.

The American actress was swarmed by admirers as she arrived at the Bendigo Art Gallery in Victoria to open the new Elvis Presley exhibition, Elvis: Direct from Graceland, on Saturday.

As her car pulled into the venue, the 76-year-old was completely surrounded by fans peering out the windows as she offered a friendly wave.

Priscilla looked stunning in a vintage-style long-sleeved blouse with frills of baroque and animal prints.

The star slicked her red hair off her face into a ponytail and opted for a glam makeup look.

She chose bright red lipstick and smokey eyeshadow in soft brown and black tones.

The crowd followed his car as it crawled through the parking lot, with a large group taking pictures as they crowded by the windows, vying for autographs.

The day before, Priscilla shared her thoughts on what her estranged husband, who died in 1977 aged 42, would have thought of Australia, which he never visited.

“Elvis thought for a moment that he would be forgotten,” she said in a video shared by ABC Central Victoria.

“He couldn’t visit all the places he wanted to go, and Australia was one of them,” she continued.

“So it will be exciting for all of you to share his life and the things he did, the clothes he wore, especially his jumpsuits.”

Inspired by his reflections on the city of Bendigo, where the exhibition is held. Priscilla said: “I like it here. It’s so quaint and unusual. It’s a city I’m in love with. It’s really, really cute.

The star brought several of Elvis’ belongings from his Graceland home in Memphis, Tennessee, Australia for the display.

There are 300 authentic artifacts and personal items belonging to Elvis, including his red 1976 Harley Davidson, military uniforms and coveralls.

The show opens March 19 and runs until July 17, with tickets already selling out fast.

Priscilla married Elvis in 1967, then divorced in 1973, when she was 27 – and just four years before his death.

Elvis died of a heart attack in 1977, leaving behind his daughter Lisa Marie Presley, now 54.

In an interview with People, Priscilla opened up about her marriage to Elvis, saying, “I really enjoyed taking care of Elvis. I loved taking care of him.

“I loved feeding him. We were talking baby, because you have to have your own language when you have so many people around. It was a great life. It was different, but it was ours.
