Friends, the BMW M3 Touring is almost here. We promise you it will happen soon, in a few weeks if the rumor is correct. Given the plethora of official BMW videos and teasers in recent weeks showing various aspects of the hot field, we have little reason to doubt it will arrive in June. This new selection of spy photos offers further proof of an imminent start.
This prototype wears a form-fitting camouflage wrap and, as far as we can tell, there are no fake panels underneath. It’s the same setup we’ve seen in the BMW teaser videos, although the photos offer a clean, close look. Neither the M3 nor the 3 Series wagon are mysteries, but the combo formula is still something we can’t wait to see in all its glory. Considering that BMW parades prototypes with a brand image for Bring it on along with a QR code (which links to a BMW story on the M3 Touring), we suspect the automaker is eager to reveal it.

Speaking of Bring it on, it is believed that BMW will seek a Nürburgring record with this first official M3 longroof. Rumor has it that it has already clocked in the range of 7 minutes 30 seconds, which would be enough to comfortably take down the Mercedes-AMG E63 S in the family class. It’s the current champion with a time of 7 minutes 45 seconds, so if BMW’s unofficial time holds up, the M3 won’t have a rival in the fast station wagon world. At least, on a race track.
These spy photos also offer a look inside the M3 Touring, though it’s not exactly shown in finished condition. Both digital screens are prominently displayed, but with no bezels to dress it up, there’s a rough vibe around the edges. BMW’s teaser videos show much the same layout you get in the M3 sedan, although there’s obviously a bit more space in the back to haul your goods. We bet a set of trail-dedicated wheels and tires will fit nicely under the hatch.
Will this be the last set of M3 Touring spy photos we see before the camouflage wrap comes off? It’s hard to say, but BMW will likely share a few teasers before the wagon becomes official.
