The Premier League returns this weekend after the international break but many players could be missing.
After almost a fortnight of absence, the players will return to their clubs this week with different levels of form.
With knocks in training, injuries picked up in games and illnesses, many important members of the team could be absent.
Here’s the Premier League injury list during the international break…
Arsenal
Thomas Partey
Arsenal could be without key midfielder Partey for the North London derby on Saturday after dropping out of the starting line-up for Ghana last week.
Partey pulled out of the squad just minutes before facing Brazil after experiencing knee discomfort during the warm-up.
The Ghanaian returned to London early and will be assessed before the weekend.
Kieran Tierney
Left-back Tierney was substituted with a move while playing for Scotland on Saturday.
Tierney took a blow to the head and was taken off as a ‘precaution’ so Gunners fans will hope he doesn’t have to miss a game.
Takehiro Tomiyasu
Just back from injury, Tomiyasu had to retire from the Japanese squad and return to Arsenal early.
However, there was no mention of any knocks, with a statement saying his departure was due to “circumstances at the club”.
AstonVilla
Lucas Digne
Digne broke his ankle during training shortly after arriving at the French camp for the international break. He is expected to be out for ‘weeks’.
Boubacar Kamara
Summer signing Kamara suffered an injury in Aston Villa’s game against Southampton which forced him to drop out of the France squad.
During the break, Kamara’s injury was confirmed as knee ligament damage and he is expected to miss up to two months of action.
Brentford
Aaron Hickey
New signing Hickey hobbled in Scotland’s game against the Republic of Ireland.
Thomas Frank will be worried but he played almost all of the game against Ukraine on Tuesday.
Brighton
Enock Mwepu
Mwepu spent four days in hospital after poor training. He has been cleared to return to England and is expected to undergo tests.
chelsea
Christian Pulisic
After taking a knock in training, Pulisic missed USA’s game against Japan on Friday.
He was then evaluated daily and then took part in his country’s game against Saudi Arabia.
Everton
Nathan Patterson
Scotland right-back Patterson was stretched in their game against Ukraine and could potentially be out for six weeks.
He is due to see a specialist this week to determine the severity of the injury.
Fulham
Aleksandar Mitrovic
According to various reports, Fulham striker Mitrovic has been substituted through injury after scoring a hat-trick in one hour against Sweden.
The Serbian would be a huge loss for Marco Silva’s side if he were injured, however, there were encouraging signs following his appearance in Serbia’s game against Norway on Tuesday.
Leicester city
Wilfred Ndidi
Ndidi suffered a hamstring tear and withdrew from the Nigeria squad, returning early to Leicester.
The injury has been described as only minor and he is due for an assessment to see if he will be fit for Monday’s game against Nottingham Forest.
Patson Daka
Like Brighton’s Mwepu, Daka also fell ill while on international duty with Zambia. He is currently recovering the team hotel.
Manchester City
John Stones
Stones stopped with a suspected hamstring injury in England’s 3-3 draw with Germany. He was sent off after just 37 minutes.
Stones looked devastated when he was substituted and his World Cup hopes could be on the line if the tear is significant.
Manchester United
Cristiano Ronaldo
Although he continued to play the whole game, Ronaldo received a heavy blow to the face while playing for Portugal and it left him with a huge cut on his nose.
It’s likely that Ronaldo will be fit to return to action, but after his face was bloodied there could be doubts over his fitness.
Harry Maguire
After England’s game against Germany, Maguire was seen hobbling around in the media area.
It wasn’t evident in the game that he was injured, but he could return to United with a shot.
United take on City in a huge Manchester derby on Sunday.
Newcastle
Alexander Isak
Summer signing Isak pulled out of Sweden training camp last week after missing training with a kick.
After an evaluation, it was shown that Isak had injured his calf and would be out for three weeks.
Chris Wood
Striker Wood was only able to play half an hour for New Zealand on Sunday as he was substituted with a rib injury.
He said: “Something popped in my rib. It hurt to run and to breathe.
It will be worrying reading for Newcastle fans.
Nottingham Forest
Emmanuel Dennis
Dennis had to drop out of the Nigerian squad for their friendly match against Algeria due to injury. Details of the injury have yet to be revealed.
Scott McKenna
Centre-back McKenna has joined a long list of injured players for Scotland. He suffered a sprained knee and retired from the Tartan Army squad on Sunday.
Morgan Gibbs-White
Before the start of the international break, Gibbs-White was forced to withdraw from the England U21 squad. He remained in Nottingham to receive treatment for his injury.
Southampton
Che Adams
Adams missed training ahead of Scotland’s game against Ukraine. He was ill the morning of the session but started in Krakow, playing 79 minutes.
Tottenham
Hugo Lloris
Tottenham captain Lloris has withdrawn from the France squad after sustaining a thigh injury.
The problems are not considered serious, but the goalkeeper will need to be checked during the week.
Without injury
Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Leeds, Liverpool, West Ham and Wolves have all enjoyed an injury-free international break.
