Premier League players will take the knee over the next two weekends as part of the No Room For Racism campaign.

The 20 meetings between October 8 and 16 will be used to highlight the ongoing commitment to fight discrimination and promote equality, diversity and inclusion.

It comes after the decision to drop the gesture for every Premier League game due to fears the protest had lost its seriousness.

Ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, the captains of the 20 Premier League clubs have collectively selected key moments of the season in which to take a knee to demonstrate that racism will not be tolerated, also choosing to show their support for Premier League matches. Boxing Day, No Room For Racism on game days and the last day of the season.

They have also agreed to take the knee for the FA Cup and EFL Cup finals.

Premier League CEO Richard Masters said: “Combating racism and all forms of discrimination is always a priority for the Premier League and our clubs.

“We urge everyone to play their part and demonstrate that racial bias is not acceptable in football or in society in general.

“We support the players’ decision to take a knee at specific times throughout the season and will use these games to further promote the fight against discrimination and educate fans.

“We continue to work hard to tackle discrimination and improve in-game opportunities, in line with our No Room For Racism action plan.

“We know that more can be done to remove barriers to make football more inclusive, and that football will benefit from greater diversity in all areas of sport.”

Among the matches up for grabs are Manchester City’s clash with Southampton on Saturday, Everton v Manchester United on Sunday and Nottingham Forest v Aston Villa on Monday, all of which are exclusively live on the talkSPORT network this weekend.
