Next up is John vs. Jon – two middleweight forwards deeply motivated by their families.
John Davis reveals he was in the Marine Corps for a bit but suffered a serious shoulder injury and received an honorable medical discharge. Davis gets emotional when he talks about how the injury has affected his life plans, but says the experience has taught him how to get through tough times.
Now Davis says he aims to be the Power Slap champion so he can inspire his own kids to chase their dreams.
“I wanted to show them that if you win, lose or try, you have to try.”
Jon Kennedy also talks about his family, saying he has four children, including a two-year-old son, and insists he tries to do well with them.
“I feel like it’s going to be an exciting fight because we’re both fighting for our kids,” Kennedy said of his opponent… “I surrender to him, but my family comes before his. “
John Davis wins the toss and chooses to strike first.
Davis opens the first round with a BIG shot – but Kennedy is unmoved. Eat like a champ!
Kennedy responds with a solid shot but Davis stays firm.
Davis plays round two with a MONSTER shot that sends Kennedy falling to the ground, but he’s called for a batting foul. Kennedy recovers and retaliates with a solid shot that sends Davis stumbling backwards.
After a brief recovery, Davis ends the fight in round three with a massive knockout blow!
Kennedy tried to recover but the referee stopped the match after determining that Kennedy was unfit to continue. Davis wins by TKO.
“John Davis knew he lost a point. That last round came and he had a free kick, knocked it down,” Wolverine explained.
“It was an uphill battle,” said Dana White. “I think it was a good save. [Kennedy] didn’t look like he could go on.
