The Portola Festival in San Francisco was out of control on Saturday, and it was impossible not to watch and remember the tragedy in Houston.
The event took place at Pier 80 in San Fran, and it was packed with people… some of whom stormed the barricades to get in to Fred again and Charlie XCX.
Whatever the security there… they were completely overwhelmed. There did not appear to have been any serious attempt to control the crowd.
The Festival runs until Sunday and some of the biggest names in dance music take to the stage, including nozzleThe Chemical Brothers, Gorgon City, Kaytranada, James Blake, MIA, Lane 8, Peggy Gou, fat thin boy, Caroline Polachek, Toro Y MoiCaribou, Jamie xxFour floating Tet + points and more.
The Festival is produced by Goldenvoice…the same organization that puts on Coachella.
To our knowledge, there have been no serious injuries… at least so far.
