“I do” twice.
Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia tied the knot again on Saturday, just a day after their Nigerian ceremony in Atlanta.
The couple’s second nuptials, also held in Georgia, followed a traditional American ceremony, while Friday’s wedding followed indigenous Nigerian law and customs due to the groom’s heritage.
Williams, 41, wore a white lace Frida ball gown while walking down the aisle of a Methodist church, according to People.
“I really want the Lord to be there. I want the Holy Spirit to inaugurate us to become husband and wife,” she told the outlet before the ceremony.
“I’m from the south, so I like being in church. I’ve never been married in a church, and Simon has never been married in a church, so it’s going to be a new experience for both of us.
The outlet also reports that 350 guests were on hand to watch Williams and Guobadia, 57, say “yes.”
Other “housewives” at the nuptials included Kim Zolciak-Biermann, Monyetta Shaw, Kandi Burruss, Drew Sidora and Cynthia Bailey.
“We call each other ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ all the time, but now it’s going to be official, so I think I’m going to cry,” Williams told People. “Simon says he’s not going to cry, but he cried at home when we talk about our relationship, so I think he’s going to cry. I think we have a silent bet.
Williams previously revealed that multiple celebrations for the couple’s big day were still part of the plan. In May 2021, the reality star shared on her radio show, “Dish Nation,” that they wanted three weddings.
“He is African, so we are going to have an indigenous law and custom ceremony, and a regular wedding, and then we are going to have another wedding in one of the houses which is outside the country,” he said. she explains.
Williams and Guobadia’s relationship got off to a controversial start as the businessman was previously married to the Bravo star’s “RHOA” co-star Falynn Pina when they first met.
The now-married couple got engaged in May 2021, just weeks after Pina, 32, announced that she and Simon had decided to call it quits.
However, Williams has always stressed that she did not interfere between the former couple’s marriage, noting on social media at the time: “Falynn and I are not friends, and Simon’s divorce has been settled. . Our relationship is a positive and loving step forward in each other’s lives.
The “Pursuit of Porsha” author joked to People on Friday, “This is our last wedding, okay? We belong together. That’s it. It’s a blessing to be able to find your person. It doesn’t happen often.
Williams was previously married to Kordell Stewart from 2011 to 2013, and their relationship was featured on Season 1 of “RHOA.” She was also engaged to Dennis McKinley, with whom she shares 3-year-old daughter Pilar.
Guobadia has five children – Quentin, Nicole, Christian, Benjamin and Ximena – from previous marriages.
