The Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 debuted less than a year ago as the most powerful version of Sweden’s electric liftback. It looks like the EV automaker has new upgrades ready to be installed on the performance model as it teased the “next edition of our Polestar 2”. Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath posted a very short video presentation of the model on Twitteraccompanied by a single brand-specific teaser image Twitter channel.
We don’t see much of the performance upgrade from the EV and Polestar doesn’t specifically say it’s the BST Edition 270 version. The Pirelli P Zero tires and large brake caliper pictured, however, lead us to believe this is indeed the amplified Polestar 2, as both of these components match what we saw with the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 2022 last year.
We remind you that the performance battery electric vehicle has a two-motor electric powertrain with a maximum output of 476 horsepower and a torque of 502 lb-ft. These numbers offer vastly improved responsiveness over the standard Polestar 2 and that’s not all. Two-way adjustable Ohlins shock absorbers with auxiliary adjustment chambers, a new front strut bar and 20 percent stiffer springs are part of the suspension upgrade, which lowers the vehicle about an inch.

Let’s not forget that more recently the Polestar 2 got a comprehensive update for the 2024 model year with new electric motors and batteries and a rear-drive base model. The twin-motor model has a rear-drive bias with peak power up to 421 hp and 546 lb-ft from 408 hp and 467 lb-ft before the 2024 model year. Even better, if you upgrade the car with the optional Performance Package, that goes up to 455bhp, which almost matches the power of the BST Edition 270. Logic tells us that Polestar would like to see a bigger gap between the regular twin-motor model and the variant BST lighthouse.
The BST Edition 270 was limited to 270 units worldwide with only 55 cars reserved for the US market. It looks like there will be additional vehicles on the production lines as we expect this new upgraded version to have its own production allocation. We’ll learn more on March 21, so stay tuned for our full coverage.
