“By offering such a wide range of stocks alongside funds, we’re making it easier for people to invest in the businesses that matter to them and grow their money with a balanced, long-term approach.”

Plum has expanded its investment offering to 3,000 US stocks to provide one of the widest ranges of stocks among commission-free investing platforms.

The UK smart money app has added 2,000 new US stocks for UK and EU customers to get a total of 3,000 US fractional stocks from just £1. UK and EU customers will have access to the new stock.

Plum offers four subscription plans, including a Free and Premium plan (£9.99 per month), which gives full access to all of Plum’s features, including the full range of over 3,000 stocks available for investment. More details available here via the Plum Help Center.

Plum to add watchlists, price alerts, news and ETFs

Plum launched equity investing on its app last year, following the success of its automated passive investing feature for funds. The investing app plans to add watchlists and price alerts for stocks in the coming months. Later this year, Plum also plans to add news features to its investment products and offer ETFs to EU clients.

Elise Nunn, Product Manager at Plum for Trading and Automation, commented, “The addition of new stocks comes at an important time as people look to improve their money management in the coming year. Having a wide range of investment options available has always been crucial to Plum’s offering, so we are delighted to now offer this enhanced and highly competitive range of companies to invest in.

“The objective is to make it accessible to everyone to build a balanced and diversified portfolio, supported by useful educational tools. By offering such a wide range of stocks alongside funds, we make it easier for people to invest in the businesses that matter to them and grow their money with a balanced, long-term approach.

“Our clientele tends to be younger and more diverse than the typical investor, so it’s no surprise that they chose tech stocks during their first foray into equity investing at Plum. They want invest in what they know and what matters to them, and as digital natives, technology is an obvious choice. With our expanded range, it will be interesting to see if there are any major changes in our actions the most popular.

Launch of Plum in Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Greece and Cyprus

Founded in 2016 by Victor Trokoudes (ex-Wise), Plum automates part of personal finance to help users save, invest, budget and manage their expenses. Plum has over 1.5 million customers in the UK and EU, helping them set aside over £1.5 billion. Plum is headquartered in London, UK, with offices in Athens, Greece, and Nicosia, Cyprus.

Earlier this year, the company recently launched the smart money app in Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Greece and Cyprus as it expands further across Europe. This follows the recent launch in France, Spain, Ireland and Belgium.

Plum has also added equity and crypto investment products to make its money app more appealing to retail consumers in Europe.
