Singaporean startup Plano’s eye-care mobile app has been added to the app gallery for the mobile gadget and wearable brand from Chinese electronics giant Huawei.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT
The integration of Plano’s mobile app with Huawei devices is part of their partnership to tackle the global problem of myopia or myopia. In a press release, the startup said its entire ecosystem, including its mobile app, online eye health reservation system, planoEyecheck, and eye health education-based website, will be available to Huawei users in China.

This too has partnered with Thomson X, a unit of Thomson Medical Group, listed on SGX, to deliver its AI-based eye care solutions to hospital group patients. Their partnership also aims to help esports players who have their eyes exposed to electronic devices for longer periods of time.
In addition, one of the largest specialist ophthalmology centers in Malaysia, VISTA today announced the adoption of the MYAH diagnostic tool for the management of myopia and dry eye. Topcon Healthcare’s US-based diagnostic platform has a reporting system that tracks myopia progression over time and analyzes data for treatment effectiveness, helping physicians better manage children’s myopia.
