WhatsApp will soon make it easier for you to transfer chats between Android and iOS if you are planning to switch from Android to iPhone. The social media giant plans to allow users to officially transfer their chat history between the two different platforms.
At present, there is no official way to transfer WhatsApp chat history between new devices, but the chat platform plans to update it for its users soon.
When you switch from iOS to Android or from Android to iOS, WhatsApp transfers your account information, including your profile picture, name, about, individual chats, group chats, and settings, but it does not migrate your chat history.
The messaging app allows you to back up your data to a third-party cloud storage app, but does not support migration of chat history from one device to another.
The future update of WhatsApp for iOS and Android
A future update to WhatsApp for iOS and Android will offer the possibility to migrate chat histories from iOS to Android and vice versa, news agency ANI reported.
The website also shared a screenshot, which shows that a user must use the latest version of WhatsApp to transfer chat history to an Android phone.
The point of sale provided a screenshot of the upcoming feature without providing any other niceties about the feature. There is also no word on when the new component may appear.
According to Mashable India, there are a few tools that say they can migrate a user’s chat history between WhatsApp on Android and iOS, but they may be unreliable and their use also violates WhatsApp’s terms of service.
On the other hand, WhatsApp’s competitors such as Signal and Viber offer this feature, so WhatsApp might want to scramble with this feature by seeing it as the priority of the new platform update.
The exact release date for this feature is unknown. However, it could happen with a feature of multiple devices. The latter means you’ll soon be able to use WhatsApp on multiple devices, according to the report.
