Phoebe Burgess has been open and honest about her battle with chronic back pain, caused by a skiing accident in 2012 that “ changed her spine forever. ”
The 31-year-old shared photos from her hospital bed with her Instagram Stories on Sunday, detailing her most recent round of injections.
Phoebe’s surgery involved lumbar epidural injections, Botox to “ freeze the muscles ” surrounding her spinal injuries, and a radiofrequency neurotomy to target the nerves.

The mother-of-two shared two photos of herself in a hospital gown, before and after treatment, and revealed that she has surgery every four to six months.
“Another week, another needle behind my back,” Phoebe captioned in a photo.
“ This round was L4 / 5 epidural spinal blocks, neurotomies (slicing muscle spasms), Botox (not the right kind, the kind that freezes the muscles around my spine injuries for pain relief) and a few other injections into the nerve roots. ‘

Phoebe added that if the neurotomies leave “ little dot-like scars ” on the lower back, it’s worth it for pain relief.
In October last year, the lifestyle entrepreneur admitted in an Instagram post that it had taken her “ years ” to come to terms with her diagnosis and that she felt responsible for giving advice to d other women, after being inundated with Instagram posts.
“I don’t know if it’s social responsibility, female responsibility. The responsibility to be [a] “Mom,” she explained.

Honest and Open: “Two children and countless procedures, injections, scans and surgeries later, I live in chronic pain. It took me years to recognize and come to terms with my diagnosis, ” Phoebe admitted to her followers.
After the operation, she did not “listen” to her body or follow the advice of the doctors; instead, continue to play tennis, ski and run “every morning on concrete”.
Unable to come to terms with her reality, Phoebe spent “weeks in the hospital, unable to move.”
“Two children and countless procedures, injections, scans and surgeries later, I live in chronic pain. It took me years to recognize and come to terms with my diagnosis, ”admitted Phoebe.

Support: Phoebe went on to say that she found the right support for her: a small team of professional helpers. “ The safety net away from my family that comes together around me when a problem in life requires more than me to solve it, ” she said.
