Fans of Selena Gomez and Marvel have joined forces, asking the actress to play Spider-Woman in any potential new film.
In particular, following the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the petition circulated on Twitter calling for Gomez to be part of the film franchise alongside Tom Holland.

Who is Spider-Woman?
Jessica Drew’s alter ego Spider-Woman made her superhero debut in a Marvel Spotlight comic released in 1978 after being introduced by comic book writer Archie Goodwin.
Born in London, her family moved to the fictional European country Transia when she was a child.
Spider-Woman fell ill from exposure to uranium in her father’s lab before she was injected with an experimental serum infused with irradiated spider blood in an effort to save her life.
In addition to superhuman strength, speed and agility, Jessica is a melee fighter trained in boxing, capoeira, judo and karate. and is considered a master spy.
Spider-Woman plays a key role in the Spider-verse comics which feature multiple versions of alternate Spider-heroes being attacked by the supervillain, Morlun.
She’s also a member of the New Avengers, which gives Marvel plenty of opportunities to feature the superhero in their films.
What is the Twitter petition and how many have signed up?
The petition, “SELENA GOMEZ AS SPIDERWOMAN” was launched this Saturday on change.org, and already has nearly 2,000 signatures.
Her original account is named Selena Gomez and is based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Description says: “Selena Gomez would be an outstanding actress to play the role of ‘Spider-Woman’.
“Gomez has been playing since he was seven. From Wizards of Waverly Place to Spring Breakers to Only Murders in the Building, it has received rave reviews.
“However, over time it only got better.”
Campaign supporters noted their reasons for signing: “Because she deserves it. She is an incredible actress.
Why do fans want Selena Gomez?
Selena Gomez fans have likened the actress on Twitter to the comic book portrayal of Spider-Woman.
Both have long dark hair, which seems to be the feature most users focus on.
