UPDATE 4:38 p.m.: A U.S. Border Patrol statement says one person in custody was shot and taken to a local hospital.

The statement said US Border Patrol agents assigned to the Ysleta Border Patrol Post were involved in the shooting.

Several agencies are involved in the investigation, including the FBI, El Paso police and the Office of Professional Accountability of US Customs and Border Protection.

According to Border Patrol, the shooting took place at 12:45 p.m.

EL PASO, Texas — According to initial reports, there was a shooting at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Ysleta Border Patrol Station.

The station is located at 12245 Pine Springs Drive.
