Reece James has revealed he would have loved playing alongside Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, saying they would be “the perfect combo”.
The full-back is hard at work behind the scenes as he seeks to recover from the knee injury that ruled him out of Gareth Southgate’s 26-man World Cup squad.
While enjoying some quiet time away from the limelight, James conducted a social media Q&A.
Fans were able to ask the Chelsea star questions, with one asking which former Blues star he would like to play with.
Posting on Twitter, James replied: “I would have loved to play with Didier Drogba because I like going forward and crossing.
“Then he is one of the best strikers in history and scored some amazing goals with his head. Perfect combo,” before sharing a laughing face emoji.
He then added: “Ps. Champions League final.
Drogba is one of Chelsea’s greatest strikers in history having scored 164 goals in 381 appearances for the club.
In that time he also won four Premier League titles, four FA Cups and even a Champions League which he won in his last game for the club.
Renowned for his dominant style in the opposition penalty area, James believes the former striker would be an ideal team-mate.
