Barcelona have confirmed that Pedri was declared fit for Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Benfica after recovering from a thigh injury.
The 18-year-old has not played since the loss to Bayern Munich on September 14, but he is part of the squad that will travel to Portugal.
Sergi Roberto has also been given the green light after missing the win over Levante with illness, but there is no comeback yet for Jordi Alba who remains on the sidelines.
The return of the duo will give Koeman more options in what is an important game for Barcelona after they kick off their group stage with a loss to Bayern Munich.
However, the Dutchman could also have his eye on another big league game this weekend, with Barcelona heading to the Wanda Metropolitano stadium to face Atletico Madrid.
Early reports suggest Pedri won’t start at Benfica, but Koeman has plenty of midfielders available with Frenkie de Jong returning from suspension and joining Sergio Busquets, Gavi, Riqui Puig and Nico Gonzalez in the squad.
