You have questions. I have a few answers.
Q: Tom Hanks made a movie about being the captain of a destroyer escorting a convoy during WWII. I don’t know the name of the movie, but I don’t think it’s ever released in theaters. I can’t find it on Redbox or pay-per-view, and I can’t find it for purchase anywhere. Do you know what happened to this movie?

A: The name of the movie is “Greyhound”, and it’s pretty good. As you know, when the pandemic forced many theaters to close, studios began to look for other ways to present their productions to the public, and streaming was a solution. So “Greyhound” ended up on the Apple TV + subscription service, where you can still find it (and where you can get a seven-day free trial).
The move to streaming, by the way, affected the Oscar eligibility rules on April 25. Motion Picture Academy rules usually require “a film to be shown in a commercial Los Angeles County movie theater for a theatrical qualifying session of at least seven consecutive days, during which time screenings must take place in the Los Angeles County. at least three times a day. But for this year’s awards, streaming movies were eligible without a theatrical release. “Greyhound” is nominated for an Oscar for its sound achievement.

Q: Here is a difficult one. in “The Blacklist”, season 5, episode 8, there’s a guy singing “The Sound of Silence” (the old Simon & Garfunkel tune) in the background. It’s an excellent interpretation! Can you discover the artist?

A: It’s by Disturbed. The song is available as a one-time download, as well as on the Disturbed album “Immortalized”.
Q: “Wolf Hall” is an amazing series! When will there be a second season and will the cast be the same?

Catherine of Aragon, played by Joanne Whalley, in “Wolf Hall”. (Courtesy of the BBC)
A: Based on two novels by Hilary Mantel, the six-part drama was highly regarded when it first aired in 2015. These novels, “Wolf Hall” and “Bring Up the Bodies”, were part of a trilogy. And in 2019, the BBC confirmed that a second ‘Wolf Hall’ series was in the works, based on the trilogy’s conclusion, the highly anticipated ‘The Mirror & The Light’. This novel arrived in March 2020 and work has started on a screen adaptation. But that was also the time when the pandemic was wreaking havoc, and I don’t know where production is currently, or if it will reunite the original cast.
Q: We just finished the Netflix series “The Sinner”. I loved. Will there be more?

A: It didn’t all start there on Netflix, and all three seasons of “The Sinner” appeared first on USA Network. Last June, the United States resumed the series for a fourth season with the return of star Bill Pullman. I haven’t seen a premiere date, but the US plan was to air it in 2021.
