Paige VanZant admitted she was shocked fans had started flooding her with money in hopes of receiving nude photos.
The former UFC flyweight often posts racy photoshoots with husband Austin Vanderford on her Instagram page.
Despite signing for the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, VanZant is regularly asked by sections of her 2.7 million Instagram followers if she will pursue a career in modeling.
VanZant regularly asks fans to post questions to her on the social media site, but she didn’t expect to see so many questions about her businesses outside the cage, even though she was promoting BKFC.
“Austin and I asked the fans a question [session] where you could write, ”she explained, reacting with apparent surprise to the response she had received.
“There were 200 questions and about 20 of them were ‘hey, why don’t you do an OnlyFans?’
“Basically I said, ‘I’m not going to do an OnlyFans but if you really want to send me money and enjoy the things that I post on Instagram, you can VenMo me.
“I was like ‘go ahead and send me some money so you can show me your appreciation.
“I had a lot of Venmo people me, which I didn’t expect to see.
“Five or ten people sent me money and thought they would receive an explicit image.
“This was absolutely not what was going to happen. I’m sorry for the confusion and for anyone who sent me money, hoping to get nudes or something.
“The point is, I’m not doing OnlyFans because I’m not going to do that stuff.”
Although she has admitted that she has made more in her career posting photos than throwing punches with the UFC, VanZant is adamant she will not be joining the site, allowing the creators to content to earn money from subscribers.
While popular with sex workers, content creators from other genres can make a living, such as musicians, fitness experts, and chefs.
VanZant was banned from the UFC in July after her loss to Amanda Ribas on Fight Island, but revealed that she donated the money she earned from fans to animal charities in Florida.
“I went to donate all the money that was sent to me to a charity here in Florida because it was just weird, I don’t know,” she says.
“It was a stupid joke but no I’m not going to do an OnlyFans. End of that – don’t send me money.
“And I don’t judge any man or woman who is on OnlyFans at all. It’s just not for me at this point in my life, so anyone who keeps asking on social media, you’re not going to convince me.
