Padma, who was born in the southern Indian city of Chennai, added a dazzling touch to the look with a few necklaces.
She posed with author Gloria Steinem, journalist Ronan Farrow, variety editor Claudia Eller, producer Paul Buccieri and tennis icon Billie Jean King.
Padma, Billie Jean, Claudia and Gloria were gathered that day for a round table chaired by Ronan.
On the red carpet, Padma also posed for a duet with Gloria, who fortunately opposed a scarlet scarf to a black outfit.

The discussion on stage involved #MeToo and Harvey Weinstein, who this week was convicted of third degree rape and criminal sex.
Ronan was one of the first reporters to break allegations of sexual misconduct against Harvey, launching the #MeToo movement in late 2017.
Padma said of her 10-year-old daughter Krishna: “I don’t want her to get into the arts and face a pig like Harvey Weinstein.”
She argued, according to Variety: “You can change the laws, but if you don’t change the culture and the mindset, those laws will not be enforced.”

Meanwhile, Matthew cut a dashing figure off the red carpet in a three-piece checkered silver suit and a pair of tinted specs.
He paired the suit with a white dress shirt without a tie, leaving his first two seductive buttons undone on his chest.
When the heart of Hollywood went up on stage, he spoke of the exchange in his image of a sparkling romantic comedy to a versatile actor capable of capturing dramas.
Although he started his career in light meals, he took his leave of the company in the late 2000s and finally embarked on what fans call his “McConaissance”.

“ Un-branding ”: when the heart of Hollywood went up on stage, he spoke of the exchange in his image of a sparkling romantic comedy to a versatile actor able to capture dramas
This phase of his career included his Oscar-winning performance in the AIDS movie Dallas Buyers Club and his Emmy-nominated tour in the drama HBO True Detective.
After the birth of his eldest son Levi in 2008, he said, “I took off and I went through a phase of non-branding,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“Not a re-branding phrase, a non-branding phase. I said, “I’m out,” said Matthew, who has three children with his wife Camila Alves.
“ This anonymity, this absent being, is not the shirtless guy on the beach in a romantic comedy, not wearing a brand, then suddenly things came to me that I wanted make. Dramatic roles that I had played came to meet me.
