Pickup Trucks – America loves them and they’ve been a popular auto body type from the start. The utilitarian nature of these machines makes them a basic choice for commercial use.
But pickup trucks have grown from clunky workhorses to lifestyle vehicles that can haul. These days you will rarely see a truck carrying a massive load and if you do, you will likely see dirt bikes and other outdoor activity items on the bed which is fine.
This Ford truck owner from Mexico doesn’t want it at all.
The above video was posted by Maara Padilla (@lapipadelapaz) on TIC Tac and has gained around 12,000 reactions and almost 3,000 shares at the time of writing. No surprise, really – the single cab truck in the video is seen carrying things stacked on its bed, mostly wooden items, almost twice the height and length of the vehicle itself. Heaven knows how heavy these things are, but a quick glance at the wheel area tells us that these items are already over the truck’s payload limit.
Then again, the pickup is still in motion, despite objects swaying back and forth as it paced Mexican Avenue.
Needless to say, it still reminds you that although it is done by this truck, transporting beyond your truck’s payload limit is extremely dangerous to you and other road users nearby. You will never know when the vehicle will collapse and if it doesn’t we are sure this stunt will have a long term effect on the structural integrity of the truck.
So if you can help it, don’t do it in one trip. It doesn’t prove anything. Prevention is always better than cure.
