Orlando Bloom opens up about his ‘intense stress’ at home with fiancée Katy Perry – 7NEWS

Orlando Bloom has opened up about why there was “intense stress” at home with his fiancée Katy Perry and their three-year-old daughter Daisy.

The 47-year-old British actor has taken some serious risks for a new adventure series called Orlando Bloom: To The Edge, airing this week on US subscription channel Peacock Original.

On the show, Bloom participates in three extreme sports – wingsuiting, freediving and rock climbing – “to push herself to the limits of possibility,” according to the show’s synopsis.

“With his family, friends, and Buddhist spiritual practice guiding his path, Orlando is trained by experts who help him overcome obstacles, face his fears, and discover valuable lessons about himself.”

But it seems his family didn’t realize how mentally and physically taxing some of the escapades were.

While chatting on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Bloom said Perry, 39, “fully supported” the project — but didn’t realize how comprehensive it was going to be.

“Obviously she’s fully supportive of us,” he said.

“But I don’t think she really understood what I was going to do until I came home from work and was clearly under severe stress.

“And she was like, ‘Are you okay?’, because usually I’m super cool.”

Perry appeared in the first episode of To The Edge while Bloom was Wingsuiting, which meant jumping out of a plane from a height of 13,000 feet.

The Roar singer was on the plane with him as he literally prepared to take a big leap.

Bloom said he came up with the idea for the show during the 2020 COVID lockdowns.

He told the Associated Press that the program allowed him to achieve things he had only dreamed of before.

“In a way, I’m like a collector of experiences,” he said.

“I was remarkably gifted and lucky to have unique ones.

“But (Wingsuiting) was really like, ‘Oh, wow, I can do this.’ Therefore, I can do anything.

The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean star said the series was designed to get viewers thinking about what gets their adrenaline pumping.

“For me, the idea of the show was like, ‘Well, what’s in it for you?’” he said.

“What’s your version of jumping out of a plane?”

“It doesn’t have to be physical or death-defying.”

He added: “I am very grateful for my life. I’m even more grateful to have survived Orlando Bloom: To The Edge.

So we suggest it’s Katy Perry and little Daisy.
