Just weeks after the eighth generation Volkswagen Golf GTI debuts, the company has commercial advertising for the new hatchback. The spotlight features the latter with a blank example of the original. No matter what appeals to you the most, there is something to see.
The place opens with two guys entering a garage and discovering the original GTI. The white tailgate with a black mesh grille with red outline and a Scottish fabric interior still looks good today. After a little time on the track, the new model joins the old-school model for a very short time together. From there, the eighth generation becomes the star of the show.
The new GTI takes the same spirit as the original. Like the first generation, there are red accents at the front, but they are now much more subtle. To give the style a new twist, there are optional LED groups in a honeycomb pattern in the front bumper.

In the original GTi, the technological equipment did not go much further than stereo. The new one is available with 10 and 10.2 inch infotainment screens. In addition, there is a digital dashboard and ambient lighting with 30 colors. You can still get plaid seats.
The eighth-generation GTI is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine developing 245 horsepower (180 kilowatts) and 273 pound-feet (370 Newton meters) of torque in Europe. Customers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. A new adaptive damper system uses data from the steering input, braking and acceleration to determine the correct setting for this moment.
It is not yet known exactly when the new GTI will arrive in the United States, but we expect sales to begin before the end of the year.
