Oppo gave us their best sneak peek of their next smartwatch along the way – and it looks almost exactly like an Apple Watch.
The new watch will be called Oppo Watch, and more will be announced on March 6 when the company Oppo Find X2 is launched, according to a tweet published on Monday by the company.
There are still a lot of things we don’t know about the device, including the price or most of its features, but there are a few things we can speculate on this single image. It looks like you can use the watch to make and receive calls. And if you look at the watch on the right, it looks like there is an option to send a message to the caller if you are unable to answer the call.
The watches themselves also look like slightly different from the Apple Watch. Although the body of the Oppo Watch seems to have a shape quite similar to the Apple Watch, there is no button that could function like the digital crown of the Apple Watch – instead, the Oppo Watch has a second and larger button similar to other WearOS devices. The watch on the left is also available in a beautiful blue color, which is not an option for the Apple Watch. And the tapes are a little different from what you can get for the Apple laptop.
Oppo was more direct on the design details before the official announcement. For example, the Oppo Watch will apparently have a curved screen and “3D glass”, according to a February 17 tweet from Oppo executive Brian Shen:
Shen also allegedly shared another image of the watch on Weibo on January 30. It gives a better overview of this second upper button and reveals a microphone and an interesting green line on the lower button:

You can see a little more of the curved Oppo Watch screen in what appears to be a leaked image of the Oppo Watch shared on Weibo on February 25. According to Google Translate, this Weibo post says that the Oppo Watch is an “Android system”, so maybe it is running Google’s wearOS:

The Oppo event takes place on March 6 at 4:30 a.m.ET, so we won’t have to wait long to learn more about the Oppo watch.
