Open champion Brian Harman goes viral for chilling 46-second interview at PGA Tour event

Brian Harman was in no mood to talk about his opening round at the RBC Heritage.

The Open champion shot a under-par 70 Thursday after a sloppy two-hole closing.

Harman was sailing at three under par before dropping three shots on 17 and 18, with a double bogey at the last.

Naturally, the American was not in a good mood, and his post-round interview was something to behold…

Journalist: “Not the way you wanted to end there.” How would you rate your tour overall? »

Harman: “I played well except the last two holes.”

Journalist: “What did you do between the Masters and coming here?”

Harman: “I came home. Not much. Just spent the week at home with my family.”

Journalist: “Can you tell us about the birdies you made? »

Harman: “I scored on three. I did an eight-footer by six. Ten feet by nine. And then a 15-footer by 13.”

Journalist: “Can you guide us to the last hole?” »

Harman: “No. Good? Thank you.”

The chilly post-round press conference, which lasted a total of 46 seconds, has since gone viral on social media.

Harman shot to fame when he won the Open Championship at Royal Hoylake last year with a stunning six-shot victory.

The world No. 10 had not won a PGA Tour event since 2017 but suddenly found himself on the American Ryder Cup team, beaten in Rome.

Since then, Harman finished second at the Players Championship in March and earned a T5 berth at The Sentry in January.

However, his first major appearance since his maiden title went horribly wrong at the Masters earlier this month.

Harman seemed to be okay, reaching two under par after his first nine holes, but finished the first round at nine over par after a truly disastrous back nine.

He would later miss the cut at Augusta National.

At Harbor Town on Hilton Head Island, Harman’s inconsistent form continued as he found himself T40 at three under par after Friday’s first two rounds.
