Oklahoma artist Marie Kash was recently recognized at the Rock Justice Awards presented by The Fourth Way World Productions at Village Studios in Los Angeles.
The occasions also marked the debut of Kash’s exhibition “Connection: Elton 52 Years On” featuring 52 works centered on artist Elton John. Works include black and white sketches, oil portraits and life-size stand-ups spanning John’s 52-year career. The work can be viewed online at mariekash.com.
“I love John’s stamina, tenacity and ability to be honest with himself. He keeps his kindness and fierce spirit around him,” Kash said in a statement.
The Rock Justice Awards also featured a performance of Elton John songs by Flight of Voices, an ensemble of LA’s top session musicians, as well as guitarist Caleb Quaye, who played guitar on seven Elton John albums. . He also received a Rock Justice Award.
