“Odell Beckham Jr. Watch” is underway, as we wait to see where the former first-round pick lands in the NFL. He visited many teams throughout the year and some franchises made their desire to sign public.

Of course, franchises interested in Beckham — the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants could put their Beckham plans on hold. CBS Sports NFL Insider Josina Anderson reports the Cowboys and Beckham are at a standstill as Dallas “figures out what’s best for (the team) now and in the years to come.” Beckham is also “discovering what is best now and in the years to come”.

According to Anderson, the Giants are standing by with their offer to Beckham. Another team is also involved in the pursuit of Beckham, as the Baltimore Ravens have suspended their weekend visit while Beckham Jr. regroups and stays in touch with the team.

Essentially, Beckham doesn’t seem close to signing with a team or his market isn’t as strong as he once thought.

Beckham certainly didn’t help matters earlier this week. While appearing on ‘The Shop,’ Beckham was asked if he’s picked a team yet and if he’s ready to play after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament 10 months ago in the Super Bowl.

“I haven’t made the decision, and for me it’s like, I’d like to be in a stable environment, get up [at] 6am, leave at 6pm for four weeks and then let’s talk about it,” Beckham said. “I played football for a long time. I’m not saying I couldn’t step in and play the regular season, but I don’t see the point. I really do not know. I prefer to play when that pressure is there. I prefer to play when the lights [are] on. I’ve been through all the playoffs and after having my first bad playoff experience, all I was ready to do was clear that of my name.”

Whether or not a team complies with his request is another story and whether or not he is healthy enough to play in the regular season is also a question mark. Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons says Beckham told him he could be ready in five weeks, which puts him in position to play in the playoffs. Beckham may not be ready to play until ‘mid-January’ according to ESPNwhich would be around the time of the conference championships.

Beckham has just suffered a serious injury and, at 30, it is still unclear how he will bounce back. Whether he will get a chance at some point soon is up in the air.
