An artist has recreated his childhood living room and his father’s corner shop in the hope that it will help Asians with dementia.
Dawinder Bansal felt inspired after discovering his father’s remaining inventory in 2015, which has been in stock since the Wolverhampton store closed in 1989.
The exhibitions give many visitors a strong sense of nostalgia.
“Reminiscing can be a powerful tool for starting a conversation, reducing stress or anxiety, and improving the overall well-being of someone with dementia,” said an Alzheimer Society spokesperson.
And for younger visitors encountering older technologies in the exhibit, they can get the answer to “what is it?”.
Jambo Cinema will be at the New Art Exchange in Nottingham until March 15.
