Todd Cantwell absolutely hates leaving.
Why? Simply because it hurts him. The Norwich ace’s point of view has not changed since he was a child at the Canary Islands academy.
Cantwell’s dislike of the header hasn’t gone unnoticed at the club, who have told the youngster he needs to start implementing this aspect into his game.
And in an academy game against Tottenham, the then-only 12-year-old heeded that advice by scoring a hat-trick … but rather cheeky.
Asked by Laura Woods on talkSPORT Breakfast whether the story is true or not, Cantwell began to laugh, “I had my review during my academy years and they said I didn’t have enough scored enough header goals.
“So pretty brazenly, I had fun in a game and I remember getting past the goalie and telling myself that it was the perfect opportunity to head a goal.

“It didn’t go too well… I’ll be honest. The head of the academy at the time called me and told me never to disrespect your opponents and said I was going too far.
“My other coach absolutely loved it. That’s why you go to the top – that’s what he told me. In my defense, I was only 12 years old!
The talented midfielder’s current deal at Carrow Road expires next summer – although Norwich has the option of extending that for another year – with speculation about his future.
Leicester, Tottenham and Aston Villa have all been linked with the 23-year-old, who has scored five goals for the 2020/21 Championship winners this season.
