Jyuddah James, Benny O. Arthur and Eric Kole play John Ellis’ children.

Its IMDb description reads, “Follow Django, a gunslinger in the Wild West who searches for his daughter who he believes escaped the murder of her family eight years ago.”

Noomi shot to fame as Lisbeth Salander in the first screen adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

But the actress recently opened up about how desperate she is to get out of the “bada**” reputation that this trilogy of films and subsequent projects has imposed on her.

Speaking to The Guardian, the Swedish star admitted the 2009 film and its sequels had a lasting impact over the next decade.

Noomi starred in Swedish-produced film adaptations of Larsson’s books, earning her a string of major award nominations and a new international career.

She went on to star in major films, including her first English-speaking role in Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows (2011) and Ridley Scott’s blockbuster Prometheus (2012).

Reflecting on this stage of her career, Noomi tells The Guardian that playing Lisbeth Salander gave her “an identity” that she struggled to shed.

“I don’t want to be the bada**,” she explained. “I even hate the word. People always throw things at me, “She’s so bada**, she’s so you.” I’m like … ‘ [putting her head in her hands].

“Making these films was like drowning in trauma. It meant that the first connective tissue between me and the world was pain for many years.

“Pain and sadness were like my identity card. Now I have healed a lot. Maybe I’m not clearer but I would say I allow more colors into me. I feel looser. The varnish, the shield I had built since childhood, is slowly peeling off. I am alive now rather than surviving.

The interview sees the actress reminiscing about instances of her own “dumb and nerdy” personality, telling the publication about the time she took co-workers to a cross-dressing party.

“I put them in wigs and long dresses, and I was a full man. I wore this dildo, this big strap-on, and walked like a man all night. I liked it!’
