When the redesigned Nissan Navara and the new gnarly-looking PRO-4X variant debuted last year, many weren’t impressed with the new premium trim. This is mainly because of the purely aesthetic improvements of the PRO-4X, unlike the off-road-focused Frontier PRO-4X counterpart that is available in the United States.
Nissan has an answer to this in the form of a rugged new PRO-4X Warrior developed by Premcar, one of Australia’s leading automotive engineering and manufacturing companies. It should be noted that Premcar has been the main partner of Nissan for its Warrior program, which amplifies the brutal capabilities of the midsize truck.
With the promise of becoming the toughest Navara in the world, the PRO-4X Warrior is of course based on the namesake variant. However, details are scarce at this point as the new model is currently in its final testing phase.
Nissan and Premcar have one goal in mind with the PRO-4X Warrior, however – to develop a double cab ute perfectly suited to Australian conditions both on and off road, without sacrificing comfort or practicality.
Based on the images provided in the press release, the Navara PRO-4X Warrior will receive a redesigned bumper and improved protection underneath. Extended fender flares are also in order, along with beefier tires and more standard off-road equipment.
At first glance, the Navara PRO-4X Warrior is destined to become a Ford Ranger Raptor fighter – but of course we haven’t seen the details yet, so we reserve our judgment.
At this point, however, the Navara PRO-4X Warrior appears to be an exclusive model for the Australian market. There is no guarantee that it will be available in countries where the Navara is available.
However, history shows that global availability is possible given that its predecessor, the N-Trek Warrior, was also sold in countries outside of the Land Down Under. But one thing is certain, the Navara PRO-4X Warrior will not be available in Europe.
