Sundance Award-winning filmmaker Nikyatu Jusu has revealed new details about her upcoming feature film for Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw and Universal that we told you about in January.

It’s unclear how close Jusu’s new feature will be to the story of his acclaimed short. But the original play, set in near-future New York City, more specifically tells the story of Valentina (Natalie Paul), who struggles to suppress her bloodlust when a new woman is introduced to her twin daughters. separated.

The feature adaptation is ongoing as part of Monkeypaw’s overall deal at Universal. Jusu’s filmmaker will adapt the screenplay with Fredrica Bailey.

The film acquired earlier this year by Amazon Studios and Blumhouse, will be released in limited release on November 23 and will debut on Prime Video on December 16.
