Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty asks court to let him tour Europe with her to babysit their 3-year-old son… while he remains on probation for violating the sex offender registry

Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, has asked a court to allow him to leave the United States as he remains on probation for his 2021 conviction for failure to register as a sex offender.

Petty, 46, told the court in documents reviewed by TMZ that it was essential he be allowed to accompany the Grammy-nominated artist on her Pink Friday 2 tour in Europe to watch their three-year-old son .

The list of dates begins Wednesday in Montreal and spans cities like London, Amsterdam and Paris, with a scheduled closing date of July 14 in Belgium — the same date Petty told the court he could be in the States -United.

The probation officer overseeing Petty’s case — which initially stemmed from his conviction for attempted first-degree rape in April 1995 — “raised no objection to his travel request,” the outlet reported, citing court documents.

If Petty’s request were granted, he would be legally required to give his probation officer a complete travel itinerary and stay in touch upon his return.

Petty’s legal troubles made headlines last September, after he was sentenced to 120 days of house arrest for violating probation after posting clips on social media with aggressive messages toward the rapper by Migos Offset.

A court order filed in the case in the Central District of California said Petty, on September 16, 2023, “was recorded on video making threatening remarks toward a specific person while he was in company of a person with a criminal record,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Minaj, whose full name is Onika Tanya Maraj, has been married to Petty since October 2019.

In a December 2023 Vogue profile, the Super Bass artist explained the dynamics of her relationship with Petty, whom she has known since high school.

“Because I’ve known my husband for so long, we’re comfortable with each other,” Minaj said of Petty. “We make each other laugh. We are idiots. And we always remember an old story.

“If it was a guy I met named Nicki Minaj, I think I would feel like they liked me because I’m Nicki Minaj, and if I don’t look like Nicki Minaj every day ?” And that, combined with pregnancy, probably would have driven me crazy.

In the interview, she said of her family with Petty: “I think deep down I believed that once I had a family, I would just lose the desire to make music .

“I always told people, ‘Look, when I have a kid, I’m going to cook him every meal and bake him cookies every day.’ Maybe subconsciously I was hoping that I would just focus on being a mother, and I was looking forward to that idea. It was like a relief. But what happens is you find out you have to work.

“I wish someone had told me – although I’m sure I couldn’t have understood it – that there is a certain level of anxiety, and you think it will go away, but actually , it gets scarier so often you think: I don’t know how to do this!
