The Barbz have “Anaconda” on a heavier rotation today as Minaj releases on her hit single.

This is another big step for Nicki Minaj and it shows that time flies. Seven years ago, Nicki raised her eyebrows with the cover art of her hit “Anaconda”, and the NSFW music video that followed garnered even more attention. The track was included in the rapper’s 2014 release The pink imprint who debuted at No.2 on the Billboard 200 cards.

Nicki took a moment to celebrate her seven-year-old single “Baby Got Back”, sharing a few behind-the-scenes moments. “7 years later. Who remembers witnessing the Internet crash when I dropped this photo?” she asked.

“I wanted to restore something,” Minaj said at the time. “Due to the change in pop culture, even hip-hop men are really glorifying the less curvy body. I wanted to say, ‘Hey ladies, you are beautiful.’ Hopefully that makes a difference and maybe it won’t make a difference, but I love it.
